2015 Working Group Meetings

Tuesday, September 22, 2015

I2SL University Alliance
5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

The I2SL University Alliance Group (UAG) will meet to continue the pursuit of strategies in "greening" the federal research grant process. Led by Kathryn Ramirez-Aguilar from the University of Colorado-Boulder, the meeting will aim to broaden representation in the group, review the knowledge gained over the past 1.5 years, discuss progress, review plans for next steps, and brainstorm new ideas. If you are from a university or federal agency, we hope that you will join us for discussion on this important topic. The goal is to work together with the university community and federal grants community at-large in a collaborative, cooperative manner to address this real need.

Laboratory Benchmarking Working Group
1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The Benchmarking Working Group exists to maximize the benefit of lab benchmarking for the sustainable lab industry. In its first year, the group has evaluated the current state of lab benchmarking, identified possible enhancements to the existing suite of benchmarking tools, and carried out an industry-wide survey to gauge the community's benchmarking needs and desires. The group is now moving into action mode: in this meeting we'll discuss the survey results, prioritize the list of projects, and develop our plan for the next year. Energetic new members are very welcome! Please contact the group chair, Alison Farmer of kW Engineering, if you are interested in contributing but cannot attend the in-person meeting.
