At the 2018 I2SL Annual Conference, Tom Smith moderated a panel of facility experts representing industry, academic and government facilities. The facility experts discussed their experiences implementing programs for operation and maintenance of high performance labs and critical workspaces. He will focus on the issues faced by facility managers and how different types of organizations have addressed the need to ensure safe, efficient, and effective facilities.

Instructor Biography

Tom Smith is the president and CEO of 3Flow. For 30+ years he's worked to provide safe, efficient and sustainable labs. He has degrees in Engineering and Industrial Hygiene from NCSU and UNC. He is active professionally and served as the Chair of ASHRAE TC9.10 Laboratory Systems and the AIHA Z9 Standards. He is on the Board for I≤SL and was a recent inductee to the Alumni Hall of Fame for the Mechanical Engineering Department at NCSU.
