I2SL Becomes Co-Sponsor of Labs21 Annual Conference and Workshops

*Note: EPA and DOE have decided to continue their partnership with I2SL through 2007, making I2SL the official non-profit co-sponsor for the Labs21 2007 Annual Conference and workshops.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the US Department of Energy (DOE) were pleased to announce on April 24, 2006, that the International Institute for Sustainable Laboratories (I2SL) has been selected as the official co-sponsor for the Laboratories for the 21st Century (Labs21) 2006 Annual Conference and program workshops.

To fulfill it's role as co-sponsor of Labs21 conference and workshops, I2SL plans to facilitate a network of technical capabilities and partners to address global needs in the following areas while incorporating the Labs21 Approach:

  • Providing infrastructure assessments
  • Offering technical assistance
  • Sharing new technologies through customized training and workshops
  • Assisting with project charrettes
  • Developing case studies and best practices
  • and much more!

By entering into this co-sponsorship agreement with I2SL, EPA and DOE will continue their commitment to and support of Labs21 as a federal program, and ensure the continuance of Labs21's mission to promote the achievement of high performance, low-energy laboratories.
