I2SL recognized 11 2024 Sustainable Laboratory Awards Program winners at the 2024 Annual Conference. These winners showcased innovative practices in lab sustainability and achieved savings in energy, water, carbon emissions, and more. During a webinar on November 13, I2SL showcased two of the Program and Initiatives winners, as well as the Phil Wirdzek Emerging Leader winner who could not attend the conference. Labs2Zero Launches New Tools and Features
To help address the outsized impact laboratories have on carbon emissions, I2SL’s Labs2Zero program has launched three new tools to help decarbonize the world’s high-tech research facilities: a pilot lab Energy Score, which now includes a Target Setter tool; a pilot Operational Emissions Score for lab buildings; and Embodied Carbon Benchmarking.
