An Evening on the Flatirons
Wednesday, October 22
With the soaring rock formations known as the Flatirons as the
backdrop, attendees enjoyed an evening of traditional Western cuisine
under the stars. Held at the National Center for Atmospheric Research's
Mesa Lab, this evening offered an excellent opportunity to network
and relax after a full day of sessions.
The Mesa Lab was designed by architect I.M. Pei and is set high
above Boulder against the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. The
laboratory is a striking, futuristic structure, influenced by the
ancient Native American cliff dwellings at Mesa Verde National Park
in Colorado. Because of its unusual beauty, the Mesa lab is world-renowned
as an architectural icon.
